SugarCRM Joins Microsoft & Other Industry Leaders in Interop Vendor Alliance

Alliance committed to connecting people, data and diverse systems

CUPERTINO, Calif. (November 14, 2006) –

SugarCRM Inc., the world’s leading provider of commercial open source customer relationship management (CRM) software, today announced its membership in the Interop Vendor Alliance with Microsoft. The Alliance was established to connect people, data and diverse systems through better interoperability. SugarCRM, which champions customer choice through commercial open source products with both on-site and on-demand CRM solutions, has joined enthusiastically with member companies to ensure interoperability for its customers.

In February this year, SugarCRM and Microsoft announced a technical collaboration project when SugarCRM became the first commercial open source application vendor to adopt the Microsoft Community License and introduced a Windows-based distribution of SugarCRM. Nearly 35 percent of SugarCRM’s customer base runs on Microsoft Windows Server.

“This alliance allows Sugar to continue to broaden options for our customers,” said Paul Oh, Director of Technology Alliances, SugarCRM. “It fits well with our overall philosophy of providing more choice to the customer and lowering artificial barriers. Products should just work well together, and the customer can decide which ones they want to use. This way quality wins out and the customer benefits.”

“We are thrilled to welcome SugarCRM to the Interop Vendor Alliance,” said Sam Rosenbalm, business development manager, Microsoft. “SugarCRM is a leader in open source as well as CRM and an important addition to the alliance which benefits our mutual customers.”
