He first joined StubHub in October 2007 as chief technology officer and vice president of product and technology.
Formerly, Venkatesan spent seven years at eBay, where he held several management positions in the company’s trading platform and guided the creation and implementation of numerous next-generation tools, most notably the selling platform, eBay Toolbar and Turbo Lister. “Srini has helped some of Silicon Valley’s marquee technology companies develop ever more innovative and intuitive software,” said Phil Fernandez, president and CEO, Marketo. “Given our focus on customer success, Srini has the perfect pedigree to lead engineering at Marketo, creating powerful web-scale products to help companies generate more leads and close more business.”
Venkatesan is the seventh new executive to join Marketo in 2012, a year that’s already shaping up to be one of incredible growth for the company. Sharon Zezima and Jason Holmes were appointed in February to lead Marketo’s legal and client services teams, respectively, while Sanjay Dholakia, David Cain, Shaun Klopfenstein and Alexander Mouldovan came aboard in April after the Crowd Factory acquisition to help Marketo make all marketing campaigns more social.
