Puerto Rican service provider rapidly deploys new Amdocs solution in less than 6 months to enable new LTE data revenues
ST. LOUIS (April 17, 2012) – Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems and services, today announced that Open Mobile, a leading mobile service provider in Puerto Rico, has deployed the Amdocs LTE Control System for its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, enabling it to quickly launch new revenue-generating data services. Open Mobile worked with Amdocs to deploy the LTE solution in less than six months after the original project was announced in October 2011.
Featuring standards-based interfaces for easier deployment in Open Mobile’s network, the Amdocs LTE Control System is delivered as a pre-integrated hardware and software solution that bundles real-time policy control with sophisticated subscriber, device, and service management capabilities.
The solution provides Open Mobile with the flexibility to rapidly launch new LTE data services such as volume-based packages with pre-set quotas, real-time subscriber redirection to top-up service quotas, and roaming controls to manage data usage and prevent mobile bill shock. In addition, Open Mobile can improve subscriber transparency with dynamic notifications when service quotas are reached.
“Open Mobile has become one of the first LTE service providers in Latin America thanks to the smooth and rapid implementation of this Amdocs solution,” said Edgar Jaen, Open Mobile’s data services engineering director. “Beyond providing us with a significant time-to-market advantage, it gives us the flexibility to offer innovative new LTE services that leverage dynamic metering and control. Most importantly, our customers can now enjoy an unparalleled LTE data experience.”
“The fact that we were able to work with Open Mobile to quickly deploy this solution in a matter of months underscores the time-to-market value we can provide with our pre-integrated LTE solution,” said Rebecca Prudhomme, Amdocs vice president for product and solutions marketing. . ”Not only will Open Mobile be able to offer its customers a rich set of data service plans, but the comprehensive service and policy control capabilities of this LTE solution will allow them to monetize these services quickly.”
Open Mobile has been a customer of Bridgewater Systems (now Amdocs) since 2007 and has deployed the full Amdocs network control portfolio to support its 2G, 3G and now 4G LTE customers.
