The Americas Unit of Suntech Power Holdings, the World’s Largest Producer of Solar Panels, Chooses NetSuite to Help Manage its Growing Number of Suntech Authorized Dealers
SAN MATEO, Calif. (April 27, 2009) – NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), a leading vendor of on-demand, integrated business management software suites, today announced that Suntech America, a fast-growing unit of Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. (NYSE: STP), the world’s leading manufacturers of photovoltaic (PV) modules, is the latest enterprise company to go live on NetSuite after a successful and on-time implementation. NetSuite’s role at Suntech America demonstrates the breadth of functionality that NetSuite brings to the challenge of managing complex business processes while addressing real-world business needs.
More specifically, Suntech now has the platform it needs to manage a growing nationwide network of solar power dealer-installers, and has simplified its chart of accounts preparation from a week-long administrative chore to a single-click report. Suntech America relies on NetSuite to provide enterprise resource planning (ERP), including accounting, inventory and order management; and customer relationship management (CRM), including email marketing campaigns, reporting, and customer portal capabilities.
It’s no secret that solar energy is on the verge of rapid growth in the U.S. As a unit of world industry leader Suntech Power, Suntech America recently announced major initiatives to significantly expand within the U.S. solar market, planning to triple sales to the U.S. in 2009 through, among other things, expansion of its dealer network. Suntech America believes it can finally make solar power an everyday reality in American homes and workplaces.
Managing such a network requires a reliable, comprehensive business operating platform, so Suntech America turned to NetSuite. The system is designed so as potential customers and dealers identify themselves on the company’s website, leads are automatically entered into the NetSuite CRM system and appropriately sorted to the correct contact for follow-up activities. Dealers will have their own NetSuite logins, allowing them to obtain leads and book business directly with Suntech America.
Through NetSuite business partner Shannon Systems’ B2B Gateway, linked with NetSuite, Suntech America can quickly generate orders directly to the company’s logistics outsourcer without re-keying, and with full visibility into real-time inventory levels. On the finance side, NetSuite now comprehensively manages the company’s full chart of accounts, turning what had been an expensive week-long reconciliation into a simple, easily-accessible report.
Suntech America is Suntech’s first step in evaluating the NetSuite platform to help effectively meet the demand for solar technology worldwide.
