Amdocs Positioned in Leaders Quadrant for Operations Support Systems by Leading Analyst Firm

Evaluation based on completeness of service assurance, fulfillment vision and ability to execute

ST. LOUIS (November 12, 2012) –  Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems and services, today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Operations Support Systems (OSS) [1]. The report evaluates the capabilities of end-to-end vendors in the global market for OSS service assurance and fulfillment.

“We believe our recognition as a Leader in Gartner’s OSS Magic Quadrant report is another example of the portfolio leadership and expertise Amdocs offers to our global customer base,” said Rebecca Prudhomme, vice president for product and solutions marketing at Amdocs.  “Amdocs’ proven ability to deliver scalable, pre-integrated OSS solutions enables service providers to stay ahead by quickly rolling out new network technologies and introducing new services to generate new revenue streams, all the while achieving operational efficiencies.”

According to Gartner, leaders in this market:

  • Have strong market presence and significant market share, most of them globally. All leading vendors portrayed in this Magic Quadrant have a comprehensive OSS offering and would still be Leaders even if they needed partners.
  • Adopt a leading-edge position by offering comprehensive, pre-integrated, modularized TOMS suites. Beyond OSS, all leading vendors encroach into the adjacent BSS and SDP markets. Leaders are well positioned with their current product and service portfolios and their strategies.
  • Have a coherent vision that anticipates current and future requirements.
  • May not offer the best solution for every type of communications service provider (CSP), depending on their business models and maturity. However, they have proven implementation viability, and can achieve and sustain high-quality, low-risk deployments.

Gartner also notes that “CSPs’ requirements shift toward highly configurable OSS platforms that support multiple network technologies and manifold services. Technology itself is increasingly becoming a commodity. Differentiation is achieved through thought leadership in the areas of business consulting, service design and integration, and implementation services around OSS.”

Amdocs’ portfolio uniquely combines market-leading BSS, OSS and network control solutions with professional services and managed services operations. The company’s IT services approach with pre-integrated product packs is proven in multiple, multi-technology legacy transformations.

In FY2012 Amdocs announced major customer orders for OSS solutions and services, including Ecuador’s CNT, Comcast, Tata Communications, TIM Brasil and Virgin Media and introduced several new OSS solutions, such as Amdocs Enterprise Service Fulfillment and Amdocs Single Click Network Rollout.
