We have used Maximizer since the 1980’s and it’s fine if all you want is a contact database – but we all want more than that. When this kind of software was in it’s infancy, it was great; not any more. The last upgrade offer to v12 we turned down and have decided to look for another platform for our CRM. We want something that isn’t going to make our servers slow to a crawl, something with a mobile application that actually works without incessantly crashing the mobile device. Can you see the frustration of our staff when they go to look up a customer name or update a case and they have to reboot their mobile device. It reflects badly not only on Maximizer, but also on our company – we look useless and lost in the quagmire of crappy software. We have over 8,000 contacts in our database, so there is a ton of history in there. I echo the hassle factors cited by others including poor or non-existent service, coarse upselling techniques, hollow promises (Oh man am I ever sick of THAT) and when we told them we were not renewing our subscription they basically suggested we were foolish to do so and intimated we had no alternative and ‘good luck chucko’. They may be right, but bottom line is we don’t need to deal with a company that doesn’t understand that the customer is your key to success. Enough ranting. My advice, steer clear of these guys. Good luck in your search!/BM

Going through a very bad experiance in upgrade to V12, they sell you the upgrade but fail to explain that it costs $300 to get Max to install 2 hours..
They don’t have any customer service, they constantly have their hand in your pocket. Poor poor poor I would rather crm software from the devil…….

Sorry Amber V., I’m not buying it. Your review sounds suspiciously like a strongly biased advertisement reading right off the Maximizer features/benefits sheet. As a real user of Max 10 and now version 11 I’d describe Maximizer as cumbersome, confusing, poor support and in general, PAINFUL. As a small (50 people) v. successful company that’s been in business for +30 years our priorities are simple, Sales & customer service are #1 priority. After +2yrs of “trying to make it work” finding a replacement for Max has become #1 priority… Need I say more?!

I purchased a company in 2008 that had been using maximizer for basic customer tracking. We decided to update to the latest version so we could get maximum benefit from a full function CRM. The nightmare began. First we were sold a version that could only be run in one local area despite the fact that we told our consultant we would be running multiple locaitons. This issue was not discovered until one of the partners wanted to move his office and then we were told that the $1000 we had spent on the software was no good. We needed to invest a larger amount of money and buy a completley different version of the software. No refund or sorry for providing us with the wrong version in the first place. The second major issue was we had a large data base of clinets in an online CRM (wish we never left them) and the data was in a CSV format. We were told Maximizer would have no problem importing these client files and setting up the basic data. We just wanted the program to notify us of any birthdays so that we could call the client. However it was discovered that there is a flaw in the software when importing csv files that would not allow mazimizer to recognize those dates and set off a task. We had paid a Maximzer consultant to help us and they finally told us that we would have to go manually through our entire data base and delete and re-enter the data manually for our CRM to let us know it was our clients birthday….. When we wanted to be mobile access we were told the new version of Maxizer would fix all of our issues because we could have our own server hosting multiple locaitons. We spent 20K in computers and software and service contracts with Maximzer only to have to pay an outside consultant $1000 a month to get the system working. Every time an update comes out the program starts to have major issues that again we need to pay a consultant to bandaid or fix. Our service package gave us a free upgrade (except for the $1200 we paid to have it applied) to Maximizer 12. This was going to fix all the problems of the past.. Not. More issues, now when ever Maximizer is open on my machine it takes over control. You have any other program open, like MS word and are typing next thing you know Maximizer has popped in controll and all your typing is doing nothing. Not wanting to pay my consultant even more money to tell me how this does not work I decide I will call maximizer wait on hold for 20 minutes to speak with a service rep. He takes controll of my machine witnesses this problem repeateadly and says wow I have no idea. I will look into it and get back to you. A week later after I have heard nothing I call back customer service and get a new tech who informs me that no one has started a service case for me. I guess they were having problems with their customer service module in their CRM. I have over 2000 contacts with history packed into this program. Moving from it is impossible. If you are a new user stay as far away from this program as you can it will cost you time, money, and hair (pulling it out everytime you try to just use the basics.)

    Maximizer CRM- Constantly Crashing!

It’s great that Maximizer is easy to use, but I haven’t been able to see those benefits because it is CONSTANTLY crashing. I tried to install Maximizer CRM Edition 10 at work, and it crashed on 2 out of 3 of our machines. After I finally managed to install it, it crashed every time I tried to send out more than one email at a time. Tech support is totally unhelpful and useless- can’t even get through to them half the time. It is especially a nightmare for Windows Vista- good luck to those of you that have it and are going through this pain.

I chose to implement Maximizer CRM into my company and my experience was absolutely gratifying. Maximizer allowed me to simultaneously operate MS Office and Outlook – making it easy to extract, update, and transfer contact info. Maximizer also exposed me to multifaceted Crystal Reports and gave me a more comprehensive view of sales tracking. Through integrating and sharing activity reports with multiple users, Maximizer made managing contacts cohesive within my company. Overall, I have noticed faster communication, better customer service, and improved customer info! My absolute favorite aspect of Maximizer is its Opportunities section, which allows me to assess a sales prospect and the necessary measures needed to land the deal. Maximizer CRM is easy enough for me to use and provides outstanding functionality!
